Hives usually results from an allergic process; however,
the cause can also be non-allergic. Even stress can cause hives. Hives
and stress have a close relationship. Emotional stress can trigger
immunological changes in the mast cells, which release histamine into
the skin upon being disturbed, and this may lead to hives. However,
extreme stress may be responsible for chronic hives.
Hives Stress
Hives and stress or
stress induced hives are caused by constant emotional stress and
tension. If this is the case with you and you develop a red, itchy
rash, it is time to find ways to relax and relieve tension or your skin
problems may worsen.
Stress Can Cause Hives
Many people ask me if stress causes hives. The answer is
not straightforward; however, stress can trigger hives
in individuals who are prone to the condition.
Stress Hives Rash
Stress
hives rash is usually red or pale in color and can vary greatly in
size. They are itchy and painful, and must be treated properly.
Stress Hives Treatment
First,
try to determine what triggers the outbreak. If it is anxiety, try to
avoid tension and stress as much as possible. Once the rash appears,
you can apply cool compresses, calamine lotion, or aloe vera gel
on the affected area. Taking antihistamines can provide momentary
relief to the patient. Drinking peppermint tea is soothing as well.
However, if you are looking for reliable and permanent stress hives
treatment, consider natural treatments.
Can You Get Hives from Stress?
Some
people who are prone to hives may not experience an outbreak
because of stress. However, if you are prone to hives, then stress
increases the chance of developing this annoying skin problem, so it is
important to address the stressors in your life.
